12 -29-24 The final pahse of the studio is just about done. Equipment should be moving in about a week or two from now. I’m just finishing up some small detail work. 09-27-24 Kevin Russell (Shiney Ribs) at the Bastrop Music Festival. I got a call from my friend Mike Stewert Friday afternoon that the sound engineer for Shiney Ribs was too sick to make the gig that night. He asked if I was able to assist him on the gig. We were tasked with a little pre-set time and a 1 hour set change to set up their Midas digital stage mix system that included their own mics, cables and stands, 9 in-ear mixes and other wireless instruments. We had never seen the system before but knew the equipment. After a few bugs in the machine, we got everything working together with only about a 20 minute dely for a fantastic show. It was considered no less a miracle. 09-25-24 The new studio at The Owl’s Nest is coming along very nicely. It should be finished very soon and the the gear can start going in. 03-13-23 I am sad to announce my good friend Tom Farrell finally gave up his fight with cancer. He fought for so long and so hard that the Dallas Cowboys recognized how he never gave up. Jerry Jones sent him a personel letter on behalf of the whole Cowboy’s team. I had a chance to join a suprise party for Tom last November in California along with a few other friends from the Mickey Gilley days. There are stories about Tom on the Stories From The Road page and more will be added later. 12-12-22 The retirement date has been set. I’m almost there. My last day at the City of Austin will be January, Friday the 13th, 2023. My plan is to start doing small live music gigs and live recording again. I will also focus on expanding a photography career. And of course there will be alot more work focused on the The Owl and G&M Drygoods along with trying to keep up with the Owl’s Nest at Toad Hollow. I will no longer have the sanctuary of the day job to escape from everything else I do outside of there. 09-10-22 I will be sitting in on bass for about 4 or 5 songs with The Gypsy Drifters on the main stage during the Hogeye Festival in Elgin SAT.22 09-09-22 The Venues page has been added. Access it from the Main page under Touring. Included is a partial list of venues where I have done shows. So far there are over two hundred. The list is probably less than half of all the venues I have worked in but so far it is the best of my memory and some documentation. The list will be added to. More calendars and documentation ( and memory) are still being uncovered. Lots of other details are still being tweaked throughout the site. 09-07-22 The Stories From The Road page has been started. Access it from the Top Menu. The first one is one of my favorites with Chuck Berry. The stories will be posted as they are put to text. 09-28-22 The website is coming along nicely. Alot of stuff has been added and many small details are being tweaked. The Blog page will soon start to include stories from the road. It has always been suggested that I should write a book about all of my experiences and adventures. The Blog page will be a small start toward that goal. 08-20-22 New website, Years in the making. Still under construction. Please excuse our mess.

What’s going on?

03-03-25 Yee-Haaa! Just working out the bugs now. Hope to start working on a project based on the old Delta Blues masters soon. The project is over a year behind.
